Vehicle Check-In Clerk

Summary: Job Summary:
Must have general knowledge of automobiles and trucks and must have the ability to drive a vehicle with a standard transmission.
Reporting to the Operations Manager or designated manager, provide and record accurate information on vehicles being checked into auction for sale.
Perform all duties assigned by the General Manager or designated manager
Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed at-all-times.
Vehicle Check-In Clerks work must be able to work outdoors under any type of weather conditions.
Must have a willingness to work with electronic technology and be computer literate.
Job Description:
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provide prompt and courteous service to auction cliental.
2. Make sure customer vehicles being delivered to the auction are checked in accurately, promptly and efficiently.
3. May be responsible for addressing customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise the General Manager or designated manager of all issues or serious complaints.
4. Responsible for keeping handheld computer, printer and equipment in good working order, with batteries charged. Items must be kept safe properly secured when not in use. Responsible for immediately notifying a supervisor/manager of any missing items or equipment problems.
5. Enter accurate information to handheld computer on each vehicle. Vehicle identification number, mileage, dealer identification number, etc.
6. Familiarize yourself with auction customer protocals and gather a knowledge of internal processes.
7. Cooperate with co-workers and promote teamwork at-all-ties. Set a good example of attitude and performance.
8. Communicate with staff in other departments to resolve check-in problems as they arise. Maintain a good flow of communication with all personnel.
9. Check for and respond to e-mail communication and phone messages in a professional and timely manner.
10. Fulfill daily reporting requirements.
11. Complete all Safety Training Programs on a timely basis. Assist in maintaining a safe working environment, free of clutter for employees and customers. Report all accidents and safety hazards to management and Safety Specialist.
12. Safety is our #1 priority and all employees are required to work within the safety guidelines of the auction.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Basic computer skills are required and must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

The physical activity requirements of the position are from Medium to Heavy Physical Work
Constant - standing, watching, touching and fingering, listening
Frequent - walking, talking, reaching, feeling, grasping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting
Occasional - climbing, balancing, crawling
Potential - running, jumping, yelling, or other rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations
This position is conducted mainly in outside environmental working conditions, which includes temperature change and increased noise levels. Position requires frequent bending, twisting and turning. Applicant must be prepared to be on his/her feet for most of their shift and must be able to lift 40 pounds.
This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards, such as electrical current , moving mechanical parts, exposure to hot equipment and cleaning and pesticide chemicals; and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations..

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
